MERCHANDISE

There will be a designated merchandise area in each venue (or as close to, in cases where there is no facility to sell from within) from which you will be able to sell merch on the day you play (and only the day you play) – this will only be GUARANTEED if you contact Stuart in advance at: rebellionbandstalls@gmail.com book your merch space. Please note space is very limited, so please try and keep shirt designs to best sellers, 3 designs max is suggested.

Please note there are no festival staffed merch areas at Rebellion.  You sell your merch yourself. Rebellion does not take any % of your merch. Also Stuart is NOT in charge of guest-list places for your Merch guy/girl, please sort these within your agreed allowance. Any requests for passes should be sorted in the online form that are sent to bands in advance of the festival.

If you want to sell all weekend then we do have discounted tables available but you MUST contact Stu as soon as possible for conditions and to book your place and agree payment.
If when you contact Stuart you can also include the following info, it will make the sorting of the 300 odd bands a lot easier!

Email rebellionbandstalls@gmail.com – please head the message “Rebellion Merch”  and include the following info

  •  BAND NAME
  • BAND CONTACT
  • CONTACT NUMBER
  • ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL AT VENUE
  • PREFERRED TIME FOR TRADING (ie all day, 4-8 etc etc)

FURTHER INFO:
1) You will receive a 3 foot space along a table front, plus the corresponding wall space behind – this is plenty of room for a decent display, however if you normally bring 8-10 designs it might be worth slimming it down to 3 big sellers as there simply isn’t the floor space behind your stall to store the stock! (bands in the Empress/headliners in the other rooms might receive more – again position on the bill will affect this) The actual walls of the venue are NOT to have anything stuck upon them – there is some fencing behind the merch areas, which you affix shirts to.

2) Each space will be clearly marked upon arrival – using the time honoured method of a piece of gaffa tape with your name on! – do not switch spaces around.. they are allocated in a certain manner (based on when (if) you replied, set times, feng shui and other ancient rites), I set them out each morning and know them off by heart come the morning of the show, if you switch places i’ll simply get you to remove your merch, then when all other bands have set up you’ll be then allowed set up in whatever space remains, we have a system of allocating merch spaces for a reason, don’t abuse it. Simply go to the room your playing and work your way down the tables – you’ll find your space.

3) Please stick to selling only merchandise pertaining to your band, do not bring distro’s, wholesale stalls whatever.. unless you have prior agreement from Rebellion. Anything falling under this description will be removed from your stall – this is to protect the stall holders and who are paying to be allowed to trade.

4) You can enter the venue from 10am normally (earlier sometimes, but there’s generally no one around at that time and the merch areas will look like a bombs hit them from the day before – normally if you give us until 11am order has been restored!), if playing early then it’s always good to be set up and ready for doors. You CANNOT set up the night before as bands will be using the areas until curfew and there is no one to watch the stall areas over night. They are unsecured.

Please note, in most rooms – if you are one of the first 5 or so bands on you will be given a time you can trade until, whereupon your space will be given to another band playing higher up the bill, conversely if you are one of the bands playing after 4.30pm you might not be able to trade until about 4 hours in, this is due to the limited amount of trading space there is – however in most cases you will be able to trade all day, normally we find your at your busiest for about thirty minutes before you play and immediately after you finish, the merch areas are all reasonably well lit, so lights shouldn’t be needed.

5) You WILL ONLY trade in the venue you play, in previous years some bands have wanted alternative positions, with the amount of bands on this just isn’t possible – i’m sorry if you feel this affects you detrimentally but it’s the way it has to run, there is limited space in the general trading area, but this is saved for all bands selling merch over 4 days (who are paying for that privilege), contact us if you wish to take up this option, but space is limited and a charge applies.

6) You will need to provide someone to run your stand, there are no manned merch areas, in the event you – as a band – run your own area, when you go to play either cover your stall with a sheet, pack away, or get one of the bands on either side to keep an eye out, this has worked fine in previous years and where possible friendly bands are placed next to each other to help this happen. Just make a note on your initial email if you wish to try to be placed next to someone.

7) The Winter Gardens have a zero tollerance to drugs and anyone found bringing anything illegal into the building will be evicted from the festival. Please do NOT bring in your own alcohol or anything in glass bottles.
